 Bmw x5 2005

The German manufacturer introduced the X5 series in 1999 as a mid-size crossover SUV - what it basically signified was the shift (or crossover) from a truck-based SUV frame to a sedan-like body, rather like the new Lexus RX series.

The all-wheel drive is available over a wide range of V8 and petrol inline-engines. In fact at the time of the car's inception, BMW tried to market the X5 series as a SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) rather than a SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) to try and remove the spotlight from its size and girth. The different models which are a part of this series are - 3.0i, 4.4i and 4.8i.
The BMW X5 series includes the V8 engines which power the 4.4i and 4.8i models, with low-range gearing and producing 315 to 355 horsepower.
