Exterior Features

The 2011 BMW M6’s exterior should remain unchanged for the upcoming year, although there may be some changes to the options packages. The M6 will be available in coupe and convertible body styles. The styling of the M6 is like a luxurious large coupe, but inside is an outstanding performer. The 2011 M6 should come with adaptive xenon headlights. The coupe should have a carbon-fiber roof.
Interior Features

The new BMW M6 will see few changes for the new year, although some changes may be changed to the options. Interior features of the 2011 BMW M6 are likely to include leather sport seats with power adjustments and driver memory and heat, Bluetooth compatibility, heated front seats, two zones of automatic temperature control, a recently revamped iDrive interface that has hard-drive navigation with live traffic updates, and a Harman Kardon audio system. The convertible will have a powered soft top. Satellite and HD radio, iPod integration, and keyless entry may be options, or they may become standard for the new model year.

The front seats of the BMW M6 are comfortable, and have plenty of head and leg room for most people. The back seats will fit two, but there is not a lot of head or legroom. There is an average amount of trunk space for the class.
Performance

The 2011 BMW M6 is built to be a performance vehicle. It has quick acceleration and strong brakes. The seven-speed automated SMG transmission is described by some as jerky. A six-speed manual transmission should be available as an option without charge.

Worth recalling that the basis for new product will be an increase in the size of the platform on which is built BMW 3 Series Wagon.

Rumored to be equipped with BMW X4 will be a gasoline engine capacity of 3 and 3.5 liters. As well as hybrid power plant. Obtain a model and a 7-speed gearbox with two clutches.

While the car is still under development. The emergence of X4-wheel drive on the public is scheduled for late 2011.

The first of our computer generated images through this morning show BMW’s stunning new saloon car, the 8 Series, as a longer, more sleek rival to the Mercedes Benz CLS.

Though information is scarce at this point, the pics draw strong resemblance to the Concept CS seen at Shanghai Motor Show last year.

We predict the 8 Series will be based on the underpinnings of the new 7 Series (due late this year) and will be a four seat luxury rival to challenge the likes of Mercedes Benz’s aforementioned CLS as well as the forth coming Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide.

It is likely the 8 Series will be of aluminium and carbon fibre construction to reduce weight and is rumoured to be powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine that will be manufactured by adding two cylinders to BMW’s existing V10 engine as found in the M5.

The BMW 8 Series (chis code: E31); is a V8 or V12-engined 2-door 2+2 coupe built by BMW from 1989 to 1999. While it did supplant the original E24 based 6 Series in 1991, a common misconception is that the 8 Series was developed as a successor. However,
it was actually an entirely new cl aimed at a different market, with a substantially higher price point and better performance than the 6 series.

It was BMW’s flagship car and had an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Introduced with a gas-guzzling 5.0-litre V12 engine, comparable in size and weight to the biggest luxury saloons of the day,

yet with a cabin that is best described as ‘cosy’, the 8 Series looked very out of place in the economic downturn of the early 1990s.

We’re less than a month away from the official unveiling of the BMW X1 concept in Paris, but the boys from Bavaria are already planning a sportier, two-door version of their new compact ’ute. Dubbed the X2, this coupe-ish soft-roader will be to the X1 what the X6 is to the X5. The 1-series-based X1 is currently carrying the codename "Sports Activity Wagon" (SAW), whereas the X2 is known internally as a "Sports Activity Runabout" (SAR). In keeping with BMW’s new nomenclature and styling, the X2 will sport different bodywork, up-market materials, more standard equipment and a wider track to differentiate the two-door CUV from its four-door counterpart. Powertrains fitted with BMW’s Efficient Dynamics system will be part of the package, beginning with 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines, eventually evolving into mild- and plug-in hybrid drivetrains. While the X1 has already been green-lit for production, the X2 is still in limbo. But if it does come to market, expect the X2 to bow sometime in 2011 after the X1 launches in 2010.

Malicious tongues claim that the X1's psychedelic-swirl paint job marks the ultimate expression of Chris Bangle's flame- surface design philosophy, but this is not the case. The wild circles printed on thick adhesive foil do a better job of disguising a car's contours than the matte-black cladding used in the past. It was required attire for the preproduction prototype X1 that we drove.
Dimensionally, the X1 is really more of an X2, so expect the next X3 (due in 2011) to grow a full size. The X1 breaks new ground in terms of proportions: it's based on the current 3-series, but it's taller than the wagon, not as long as the sedan, wider than the coupe, and offers more interior room than any of them. Thanks to the wider doors, entry and egress is pleasantly painless. A relatively small cargo hold is remedied by folding rear seats, and a power-operated tailgate will be optional.
Our test car, an X1 xDrive28i, had the familiar 3.0-liter in-line six and six-speed automatic. Dynamically, it exceeded our expectations by about 100 percent, with tenacious roadholding and chuckable handling. It's so much fun to drive that the DMV should consider slapping some sort of entertainment tax on it.
The X1's revised, rear-biased xDrive four-wheel-drive system has been recalibrated to help the X1 handle with the same verve, finesse, and ambition as a compact sport coupe. The DTC switch should be bright red and marked PLAY: turn off the stability control, and the X1 becomes a master of grip and drift, poise and pose, balance and breakaway. Try the same hooliganism in an X3, and you'll find yourself in the ditch, guaranteed.
There will be no M version, but the X1 isn't slow: according to BMW, 62 mph comes in 6.7 seconds, top speed is limited to 150 mph, and the efficient six returned 28 mpg in the European combined cycle. Although it closely matches the footprint of a 3-series wagon, the X1 will be far less expensive.
ALL-IN-ONE FUN: The X1 is a remarkably successful interpretation of the crossover theme in that it blends SUV virtues-elevated seating position and extra ground clearance-with wagon assets such as carlike fuel economy and inspired handling. This BMW offers better packaging than an all-wheel-drive 3-series, and it's even more fun to drive. Unfortunately, the styling is an acquired taste. Maybe that psychedelic skin wasn't such a bad idea after all.

End of wait, literally! After the long long wait for the baby beemer, BMW India has finally decided to officially unveil the BMW X1. BMW India will launch the BMW X1 Crossover on 23rd December, 2010 at New Delhi.

Tagged as the sports activity vehicles, this Crossover from Bavaria riding on seventeen inchers will feature a 1,998 cc, turbocharged, common rail diesel engine, that it will share from sedan sibling, the BMW 320D. So, you get 177 Bhp of shove and 350 Nm of twist mated to a six speed slush box(automatic gearbox) for you to indulge in “Sports Activity” as BMW would liken it to.

Meanwhile, expect to pay an on road price anywhere between INR 24-30 Lakhs for the Corporate Edition(CE) and the High Line trims, when deliveries begin sometime early next year. Watch this space!

A surprise from BMW North America today: they have officially acknowledged that the BMW X1 will make its way into the American market in 2011. The initial reports were very skeptical regarding the possibility of bringing the new entry level compact SAV to the U.S., but shortly after the Paris Motor Show unveiling, more and more unofficial voices were reporting that the X1 will eventually make its way here.

The marketing for the U.S. market will start in 2010 and will debut a year later. No other details are being revealed at this time, but it seems that both the rear-wheel drive and xDrive models will be available for the American customers. While we expect the gasoline engine to be one of the options for us, we also suspect that one of the diesel offerings will come as well. In our opinion, the xDrive23d with the powerful but still fuel efficient diesel engine, will be a perfect fit for us.

As we progress in the year, expect more news or rumors to come up, but in the mean time, this is exciting news for some of us. Of course, with the launch of the new X3 next year, the BMW SAV line-up might get a bit crowded, but with a reasonable base price set, the X1 could indeed become a viable option for many BMW customers.

It was confirmed today that the BMW X1 is planned to debut in the United States in calendar year 2011. The X1 has been conceived with the flexibility to offer traditional rear-wheel drive and xDrive all-wheel drive configurations, as well as a wide variety of gasoline and diesel powertrain choices. In light of rapidly evolving US market demands, fuel prices, and regulatory standards, elements of the X1’s US launch plan, including engine and drivetrain configurations, will be forthcoming closer to the time of launch.

The BMW X1 will debut in Europe this fall with a choice of four engines – one gasoline and three diesels – and will be available in rear-wheel drive and xDrive all-wheel drive configurations. Achieving up to 5.2 L/100km (45.2 miles per US gallon) on the European test cycle, the BMW Advanced Diesel-powered X1 sDrive18d will provide remarkable fuel efficiency while still achieving a top speed of 200km/h (124mph). Each drivetrain choice for the X1 will showcase the latest results of BMW’s EfficientDynamics engineering strategy, which is focused to reduce emissions and consumption while enhancing the performance expected of any BMW.

The 2011 BMW 7-Series lineup expands further with the addition of new entry-level, sporty, and gas/electric hybrid models. 2011 BMW 7 Series is the latest entry in the luxurious sedan segment.

The all new 2011 BMW 7 Series, for the very first time in around 20 years comes with a six-cylinder engine. This six cylinder engine was earlier seen powering the all new 740i and 740Li and is an up-rated variants of BMW’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-6. Apart from the six cylinder engine, the other engine choices that we have includes V8, V12 and hybrid engine.

The 2011 BMW 7 Series comes in five trims: 740i, 750i, 740Li, 750Li and 760Li. The “Li” in the trim level indicates the extended-wheelbase body style, while the “750” models are the ones that can be equipped with xDrive all-wheel drive.
